CRANFORD, NJ — The 2022 General Election is quickly approaching, and it is important Cranford residents know who is on the ballot and how they can vote this year.

The Ballot

Five candidates are running for two open seats on Cranford's Township Committee this year.

Democrat Mayor Kathleen Miller Prunty is running for a second term on the committee along with running mate Terrence Curran. They will face two Republican candidates — current Committeewoman Mary O'Connor, along with Chrissa Stulpin.

William Thilly is also running as an independent for Cranford's Township Committee.

Voters will also decide on three candidates to serve on Cranford's Board of Education this year.

2 Year Unexpired Term - Voters can cast a vote for only 1 individual

3 Year Term - Voters can cast votes for 3 individuals

Cranford voters will also get to vote for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. In the 10th Congressional District, Republican David Pinckney is running against Democrat Donald Payne Jr.

How To Vote

There are several ways you can vote this year:

Vote By Mail

The deadline to apply by mail for a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, Nov. 1. The deadline to apply in-person at the Elizabeth and Westfield County Clerk Offices for a mail-in ballot is Monday, Nov. 7 at 3:00 PM. Mail-in ballots can be returned in person or by mail to the Union County Board of Elections office, or at the secure ballot drop box located at the County Clerk’s Office at 300 North Avenue.

Early In-Person Voting
Union County residents have the option to vote early at specified locations throughout the county beginning on Saturday, Oct. 29, through Sunday, Nov. 6. Locations, dates, and times for early voting are available on the Union County Board of Elections website.

In-Person Voting on Election Day
The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8. Polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A list of Cranford polling locations can be found on the town's website.
