National Ice Cream Day: Here's Where To Celebrate In Cranford

CRANFORD, NJ — Sunday is National Ice Cream Day, and ice cream lovers have plenty of options to choose from in and around Cranford.
Especially with the hot weather coming this weekend, it's the perfect time to shop at local ice cream shops and purchase a scoop, or two.

This creamery on North West Ave. offers a plethora of flavors — from the classics like vanilla bean and cookie dough to more obscure flavors like cappuccino crunch, holy cannoli and grasshopper. (Don't worry, that last one isn't made out of actual grasshopper... it's mint ice cream with Oreo pieces and chocolate chips).
Vanilla Bean also has lots of non-dairy and sugar-free options, as well as hard frozen yogurt.

Although this café on South Union Ave. is known for its coffee and tea, it also recently started serving soft serve bubble tea, according to a post on Facebook. This ice cream treat combines both soft serve and boba into one delicious cup.
Every week on Mondays, Café Teasia will be selling two different flavors of soft serve bubble tea including taro, matcha, oolong, earl grey de la creme, black milk tea and Thai tea.
You can't go wrong with a classic like Dairy Queen. Located on 337 N Ave E, customers can order classic soft serve or Blizzard treats. Dairy Queen also sells Blizzard cakes and several different flavors.
This new ice cream shop recently made its debut in Garwood, right around the corner from Cranford. In fact, the owner of Yummy Ice Cream is a Cranford resident, wife and mom.
Yummy is located on 1 North Avenue, and customers can choose between a cup or cone of hand-swirled ice cream for $6, a hand-blended milkshake for $7 or a handmade frozé for just $5.
