• Alcoholic Beverage License Approval Marks New Era for Cranford Theater (tapinto.net) — Cranford officials have granted the Cranford Theater an alcoholic beverage license, opening the door to expanded offerings and a refreshed movie-going experience downtown. The Township Committee also declared December 2 “Cranford Theater Appreciation Day,” celebrating the cinema’s comeback and its role as a cultural hub ahead of its 100th anniversary. 
• Boys Swimming Top 20: Teams jockeying for position after opening week of action (nj.com subscription) — Cranford boys swimming opened the season with a loss to powerhouse Westfield, 117-53, in a meet that still produced a solid power‑points total for the Cougars. Cranford is also highlighted as Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s next opponent, underscoring how the team is immediately testing itself against some of New Jersey’s top programs. Local fans can expect competitive early-season meets that should quickly reveal Cranford’s potential.
