Orange Ave Roadwork Continues, Springfield Ave Road Work Suspended Today

The roadwork initially scheduled for Thursday and Friday will now begin on Friday.

Cranford Police sent out an alert on Tuesday morning for drivers to avoid Orange Avenue as roadwork continues.

On Orange Ave., Claremont Place and Elizabeth Avenue near Hamilton Avenue will be met with delays as roadwork continues in the area, the department said.

They added that the work scheduled for today on Springfield Ave. will be suspended and begin tomorrow. A portion of Springfield Avenue southbound between Penn Road and West End Place was supposed to undergo roadwork from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, but will now begin on Friday instead.

Cranford Police have informed drivers to avoid this area during the construction times. The department has established detours for southbound traffic, but northbound should not be impacted by the work.

Dryer Farms will be accessible during this time.

The roadwork is part of the road milling and resurfacing following the water main upgrade on Springfield Avenue.
