Two Major Roadwork Projects Happening In Cranford This Week: Police
Cranford residents should expect detours and traffic delays this week due to road work projects that are in progress.
CRANFORD, NJ — Two major road construction projects are occurring in Cranford this week, according to police.
Penn Bower Inc. will begin a project on behalf of Elizabethtown Gas either Monday, July 25 or Tuesday, July 26. Streets affected will include Arlington Road, Cranford Avenue, Hamilton Avenue, Madison Avenue and Sylvester Streets.

In addition, Carroccia Contractors is working on behalf of The Township of Cranford to improve Burnside Avenue between Marsh Street to Lincoln Avenue Monday through Friday (weather permitting).
Construction will start with the proposed drainage improvements, according to police. Driveways will be inaccessible from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Work will begin at the Marsh Street side of Burnside Avenue and will continue towards Lincoln Avenue. Construction work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For the duration of the project, police said there will be some inconveniences throughout the work zone but will be kept to a minimum.
During construction, police said portions of on-street parking will be prohibited. Traffic also will be detoured during the milling and paving days.
