Union County College To Unveil New College Name

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Union County College will hold a press conference to announce a new name for the college, which will be effective July 1.

According to an announcement from the college, the name change is a way for the college re-brand and showcase its national recognitions.

The press conference will take place on Thursday, June 23 at Union's Cranford campus at 1033 Springfield Ave. Leading the discussion will be College President Dr. Margaret M. McMenamin and Union's Board of Trustees Chair Victor M. Richel, who will address the importance and rationale of the name change.

The college has been nationally recognized for its graduation rates, one of the 25 semifinalists nationwide for the 2023 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and the elite institutions where its graduates transfer.

The press conference will begin at 2 p.m. and people can ask the panel questions.
