Officers Help Deliver Baby Girl In Union County

The woman was alone in her home at the time of labor and was unable to get to the hospital due to the baby's head crowning, police said.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Officers of the Roselle Park Police Department came to rescue early Friday morning when a woman going into labor was unable to get to the hospital.

According to a Facebook post from the police department, the woman was alone at the time and was unable to get to the door due to the baby's head crowning.

Officers then forced entry with a battering ram at around 5:15 a.m. and found the woman in the bedroom. Officers saw the baby's head coming out of the womb and were able to safely delivery the baby.

Police said the mother and newborn daughter were rushed to a local hospital and are in good condition.
