2024 Election In East Brunswick: Who Is On The Ballot?

There are lots of choices to make in East Brunswick this year. Here's what to know before you hit the polls.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — East Brunswick residents will head to the polls on Tuesday to vote in the 2024 general election. In addition to the high-profile matchup between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, there are plenty of local candidates who will be appearing on the ballot.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

WHO'S ON THE BALLOT

  • EAST BRUNSWICK MAYOR, TOWN COUNCIL: Mayor Brad Cohen (Democrat) is seeking another term. He will be facing Republican candidate Eugene DeMarzo and Independent candidate Ateka Gunja. Running alongside Cohen on the Democratic ticket are incumbents Dana Zimbicki and Dinesh Behal. They will face Republican candidates Joseph M. Kincaid and Lisette Mejia.
  • BOARD OF EDUCATION: Eight candidates are seeking three seats for a three-year term - Louis D. Figueroa, Jaime Falco, Jennifer Figueroa, Barbara Reiss, Wilbur Pan, Burhanuddin Danish, Pankaj Goswami and Heather James. Jack Levitt and Anna Braun are seeking a one-year position.
  • US SENATOR: Candidates for a U.S. Senate seat who will appear on the ballot are Andy Kim (Democrat), Curtis Bashaw (Republican), Kenneth R. Kaplan (Libertarian), Joanne Kuniansky (Socialist Workers Party), Christina Khalil (Green Party) and Patricia G. Mooneyham (Independent).
  • US HOUSE (12TH DISTRICT): Voters in the 12th Congressional District will cast ballots for a full two-year term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Candidates on the ballot are Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (Democrat), Darius Mayfield (Republican), Kim Meudt (Green Party), and Vic Kaplan (Libertarian Party).
  • MIDDLESEX COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: Voters will also get to cast a ballot in the race for Middlesex County Commissioners. The Democratic candidates on the ballot are Shanti Narra and Ronald Rios. The Republican candidates are John McConville and Peter Pedro Pisar.
