EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — It's a wrap for the 2024 election in Middlesex County. On Thursday, the Middlesex County Clerk's Office confirmed to Patch that the results from the general election had been certified following Election Day, which took place on Nov. 5.

East Brunswick voters cast ballots for three local races — mayor, town council, and the board of education.

With all 40 districts reporting, Wilbur Pan, Louis Figueroa , and Jaimie Falco emerged winners in the tightly contested race.

Eight candidates were seeking to fill three seats on the BOE for a three-year term

Here are the certified results, with the vote count as per the clerk's office:

  • Wilbur Pan: 8,486 (17.27%)
  • Barbara Reiss: 6,072 (12.36%)
  • Louis D. Figueroa: 8,328 (16.95%)
  • Jaime Falco: 7,920 (16.12%)
  • Jennifer Figueroa: 7,374 (15.01%)
  • Heather James: 6,267 (12.75%)
  • Burhanuddin Danish: 1,556 (3.17%)
  • Pankaj Goswami: 2,961 (6.03%)

Meanwhile, Anna Braun won the BOE seat for the one-year term.

  • Jack Levitt: 8,340 (48.12%)
  • Anna Braun: 8,948 (51.63%)

Mayor & Council

In the race for mayor and the town council Democrat incumbent won their reelection.

Here are the certified results for the Mayoral race, with the vote count:

  • Brad J. Cohen: 13,815 (56.29%)
  • Eugene DeMarzo: 9,523 (38.80%)
  • Ateka Gunja: 1,158 (4.72%)

The results for the council race are below:

  • Joseph M. Kincaid: 10,538 (22.50%)
  • Lisette Mejia: 10,045 (21.45%)
  • Dana Zimbicki: 13,359 (28.52%)
  • Dinesh Behal: 12,796 (27.32%)

The voter turnout in Middlesex County was 62.57 percent. A total of 369,365 votes were cast across the county, which has a registered voter count of 590,286, according to the County Clerk's Office.

In the Presidential match-up, 52.31 percent of Middlesex County voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz, while 44.31 percent of residents voted for incoming President Donald Trump and JD Vance. Harris received 191,802 votes with Trump getting 162,459 votes. Jill Stein got 6,996 votes (1.91 percent).
