St. Joseph's Seeks Donations for Basket Raffle

The Mothers Club of St. Joseph High School, 145 Plainfield Ave., Metuchen, will host its 39th Annual Basket Raffle on Friday, March, 22, 2013.

This year’s theme is “Springtime in Paris.” Over 750 attendees will compete for 300+ General Baskets (valued at $100 to $299); Super Prize Baskets ($300-$999) and Grand Prize Baskets ($1,000+) at what is always a sold-out event.

The Mothers Club is reaching out to local businesses and individuals to request donations of goods and services for the raffle. A merchant’s products, gift cards for a restaurant, or gift certificates for a local professional’s services are all welcome donations. All donations are tax deductible.

“The basket raffle is a great opportunity for local businesses to support a good cause while they’re promoting their products and services,” says Mothers Club co-president Irene Laki. “Many folks who attend end up patronizing our sponsors; so everybody wins: the businesses who donate, our attendees, and St Joe’s.”

Proceeds from the basket raffle are put right back into St Joseph High School. Security cameras, library furniture, a telephone address system, and an annual scholarship fund are just a few of the much-needed projects that have been funded because of the generosity of the Mothers Club’s volunteers, sponsors, and raffle attendees.

Admission tickets and advance-sale raffle tickets are available through the St. Joseph website: www.stjoes.org. Click on Parents, then Mothers Club and then click on Upcoming Events – 2013 Basket Raffle.
