Annual Haunted House Tours And Hayrides Are Back In East Brunswick

From Open House recruitment to the annual Haunted House and Hayride Fundraiser, Middlesex County's 4-H Fall program is back.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Spooky season is here and it's time to plan some family-friendly events.

This fall, Middlesex County's 4-H program is offering opportunities for residents to get involved and strengthen their sense of community. From their Open House recruitment event to their annual Haunted House and Hayride Fundraiser, residents can participate in these family-friendly events and activities.

On Sunday, Oct. 8, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the 4-H Youth Center located at 645 Cranbury Road in East Brunswick, will host an Open House event for residents to learn more about 4-H clubs. Attendees can meet club members and volunteer leaders, enjoy petting zoos, and demonstrations.

The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County, a unit of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station. Middlesex County’s 4-H program focuses on citizenship, healthy living, science, engineering, and technology programs. There are over 30 different 4-H Clubs within Middlesex County, open to students in kindergarten through Grade 13 (one year out of high school,) such as robotics, outdoor education, 3-D printing, hiking, and genealogy. Members also participate in service activities like neighborhood cleanups or assisting local food pantries to improve their community.

Haunted House And Hayrides

The Teen Council of the Middlesex County 4-H Youth Development Program is hosting its annual Haunted House and Hayride fundraiser from 7 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in October at the 4-H Youth Center at 645 Cranbury Road in East Brunswick.

Join the fun at the 4-H Center and enjoy some scares for a good cause. Admission is $6 for each activity or $10 for both (Haunted House and Hayride).

Proceeds from this event will fund 4-H community service projects, including Project GIFT — 4-H's next big event in December — which provides limited-resource families with an assortment of toys and presents at no cost during the holiday season.

Additionally, there will be non-spooky activities for younger guests, such as pumpkin decorating and snacks for younger attendees at the 4-H Tiki Hut.
