EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — One of the biggest success stories of East Brunswick in the year 2024, has been the revival of local businesses.
Since the pandemic, the township saw several new businesses opening in town, signaling the willingness of entrepreneurs to give ownership a try in East Brunswick.
From global tech companies and local medical centers to restaurants and retail stores – the East Brunswick business community has a lot to offer residents.

As we wrap up the year, here’s a round-up of all the businesses that opened in East Brunswick:
- Asian Food Market Opens On Rt. 18: Asian Food Market, offering fresh produce, meat and seafood butchers, a bakery, and a variety of Asian products opened on Route 18.
- New Sushi, Seafood Buffet Restaurant Opens In East Brunswick: Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet opened in East Brunswick. The eatery opened at the Miracle Mall, 275 Rt. 18 near Lakeshore Learning..
- New Seafood Eatery Opens In East Brunswick: The Twisted Crab is next to Panera Bread and near Red Robin and Bar Louie. The Virginia-based seafood restaurant has seven locations in Virginia and East Brunswick is the only New Jersey location.
- New Indian Restaurant Opens In East Brunswick: Clove Garden celebrated it’s grand opening in May. It serves North Indian, South Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine.
- New Apparel, Sneaker Store Opens At Mall: Fly Standerds is home to rare, exclusive, and limited runs of apparel and sneakers. They are located at Brunswick Square Mall.
- New Acupuncture Facility Opens In East Brunswick's Medical Mile: Vital Balance Acupuncture is located at G11 Brier Hill Court. The facility is run by Larissa Semenoff, a board-certified acupuncture practitioner offering treatment for pain, anxiety, immunological conditions and more.
- Global Tech Company Opens East Coast Headquarters In East Brunswick: HCLTech, a global technology company, has opened its new offices in East Brunswick. The township office is the company's East Coast headquarters.
- New Bubble Tea Spot Opens In East Brunswick: Miruku Bubble Tea is located inside the Brunswick Square Mall near the JC Penney entrance.
- Luxury Spa & Salon Opens At Chateau Grande: A new luxury full-service Bliss Salon and Spa is opening on the premises of the Chateau Grande, East Brunswick. The 1,200-square-foot salon and spa is available to its guests and to the public.
- Palmeras Entertainment Officially Opens In East Brunswick: Palmeras is the newest venture to open on East Brunswick Route 18, as the corridor continues to reinvent itself.
- Slime University Officially Opens In East Brunswick: Slime University is located at Brunswick Square Mall. The store offers a hands-on interactive approach to creativity and fun.
- Dave’s Hot Chicken Announces Opening Date In East Brunswick: Dave’s Hot Chicken, famous for specializing in Nashville-style chicken, officially opened Friday, Nov. 1 at 326 NJ 18. Based in California, Dave’s was first started in 207 by a group of four friends as a Hollywood parking lot pop-up. From there, they have expanded to almost 37 states.
- New Toy Store Opens In East Brunswick Ahead Of Holiday Season: Toy Republic opened at Brunswick Square Mall. Toy Republic opened at Brunswick Square Mall.
- Floor & Decor To Open East Brunswick Store Next Week: The retailer, specializing in hard-surface flooring, celebrated its grand opening at East Brunswick’s Mid State Mall in November.
- Kids Empire Opens In East Brunswick’s Mid-State Mall: Kids Empire opened an indoor playground at the property previously owned by the New York Sports Club, on East Brunswick’s Route 18.
- Dick’s Sporting Goods Reopens After Renovation In East Brunswick: Dick's Sporting Goods in East Brunswick reopened just in time for the holiday season after a massive renovation.
- New Card, Board Games Store Opens In East Brunswick: IRL Game Shop is located at the Brunswick Square Mall. They specialize in tabletop role-playing games, board and card games, collectibles, miniatures, supplies, and otaku pop culture.
