“The Cake” - A Sweet Dramedy About Love and Laughter Now Playing at Playhouse 22
A play about love, acceptance and the complexities of personal beliefs with lots of laughter and lots of tears.

EAST BRUNSWICK – “The Cake”, a play by Bekah Brunstetter is now playing at Playhouse 22.
A touching and topical comedy/drama, a vivacious, conservative North Carolina baker named Della faces a crisis of conscience when Jen - whom she loves like a daughter - asks her to bake a cake for Jen's lesbian wedding.
The cast includes Meg Waldowski as “Della”; Rob Capici as “Tim”; Ashley Griffiths as “Jen”; Tara Hines as “Macy”; and Nigel Rogers as the voice of “George”.

The show will run November 7 - 23 with performances on Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
“The play explores the themes of love, acceptance and complexities of personal beliefs. There is lots of laughter, lots of tears, and a very rewarding play to watch,” explained director Bill Fikaris.

Playhouse 22 is East Brunswick's award-winning and critically-acclaimed non-profit community theater troupe since 1958. Driven and run by all volunteers, Playhouse 22 produces and stages four mainstage and three black-box shows as well as an annual holiday show every season.
