Cops: $1M of Heroin, Cocaine Seized From Alleged Middlesex County Drug Dealer

A Dunellen man’s car and home were the locations of more than a million dollars worth of narcotics, resulting in his arrest and being charged with more than a half dozen offenses, New Jersey State Police announced Tuesday.

An investigation led by the state police trafficking North Unit resulted in the traffic stop of Jeffrey Groth, 34, on Monday, Dec. 15 while he was driving on Rt. 78 in Tewksbury Township, police said.

During the stop, police found Groth had nearly 300 bricks of packaged heroin in the car, and obtained further search warrants for the vehicle and Groth’s home in Dunellen Borough, police said.

Further investigation revealed 3.5 kilos of heroin, valued at $280,000; 20 kilos of cocaine, valued at $800,000; one pound of marijuana, valued at $6,000; and $40,000 in cash.

Groth was charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, maintaining a production facility, and money laundering.

Groth was lodged at the Middlesex County Jail in lieu of $200,000 full cash bail.
