Domestic Violence Response Team Seeks Volunteers In East Brunswick
Volunteers are trained to respond to the police department on an "on-call" basis.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Women Aware, in collaboration with the East Brunswick Police Department, is seeking dedicated, compassionate volunteers to serve on its Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT).
Women Aware is a Middlesex County-based group that promotes safety and self-sufficiency among those affected by domestic violence in Middlesex County.
DVRT volunteers are trained to respond to the police department on an "on-call" basis. They provide supportive counseling, domestic violence information, legal options, community resources, and safety planning for individuals affected by domestic violence.

Volunteers are currently needed after business hours and on weekends. They must undergo a background check, fingerprinting, and interview process.
All volunteers must complete a 40-hour domestic violence training with Women Aware.
