East Brunswick Among Best School Districts In NJ, New Report Says

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick School District maintained its high grade in the latest school rankings released this week, with the district's resources and facilities earning low marks, according to Niche’s 2024 Best Schools and Districts.
According to the latest ranking, East Brunswick Schools ranked 3rd in the county and 34th in New Jersey.
These rankings and grades, published annually for the past nine years, compare schools and districts across the United States by combining feedback from parents and students with hard data on schools, teachers, and student performance.

East Brunswick Schools, which serves 8,103 students, has an overall "A" grade from Niche. The highest mark the district received (A+) was in college prep.

School officials recently spoke about the need to expand or build a new high school in the district. The ad hoc committee sent its report regarding the high school, and a presentation was made during the last board meeting.
The cost of upgrading and renovating the EBHS building would be around $270 million, whereas the cost of a new high school campus could be anywhere between $430 to $470 million.
The average graduation rate in the school district is 95 percent, with 62 percent of students proficient in reading and 39 percent in math, according to Niche.
The average teacher's salary in the district is $80,521 and the student-teacher ratio is 17:1.
The rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.
