East Brunswick Celebrates Culinary Diversity With 4th Annual Restaurant Week
The restaurant week, beginning Monday, reflects the community's remarkable cultural diversity.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - East Brunswick will be showcasing its vibrant dining scene during its fourth annual Restaurant Week, starting Monday through Oct. 26.
Unlike traditional restaurant weeks that center around a downtown district, this Central New Jersey community has carved out its own unique approach to celebrating local eateries.
"We don't have a downtown in East Brunswick," Robert Zuckerman, the township's Economic Development Officer, said during the local podcast, “The Buzz About East Brunswick.”.

"A lot of these restaurant weeks are focused on the downtown-type feel and those couple of restaurants that are there, but we have a little bit different thing here."
What sets East Brunswick's Restaurant Week apart is its inclusive scope. Rather than limiting participation to upscale dining establishments, the event welcomes the full spectrum of the township's food businesses—from quick-service spots and diners serving breakfast meetings to coffee shops and fine dining destinations like Orchard Park and Gusto Grill.

The participating restaurants reflect the community's remarkable cultural diversity. This year's lineup spans an impressive range of cuisines, including Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Gyros, Italian, sushi, seafood, Filipino, Mexican, and Mediterranean fare. The variety goes even deeper, with multiple establishments representing different regional styles—South Indian versus North Indian cuisine, various interpretations of Mexican food, and more.
The event serves dual purposes, according to Zuckerman. From a business perspective, participating restaurants gain valuable exposure through event signage and year-round presence on the township's website. But there's a deeper motivation at play.
"We're trying to help the businesses," Zuckerman said. "There's some big businesses, but there's also a lot of local small businesses. I think the majority of these are local small businesses, many of them even owned by East Brunswick residents."
For many restaurant owners, Restaurant Week offers more than marketing opportunities—it's a chance to give back to the community they serve. "A lot of these restaurants want to give back to the community. They're part of the community," he explains. "For them, this is a way to be part of the community."
