East Brunswick Library’s Welcoming Week To Offer Cultural, Civic Events
The weeklong celebration aims to showcase the community as a more welcoming place for all.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The East Brunswick Public Library will be celebrating Welcoming Week Sept. 13-22. The library will join organizations nationwide to bring together neighbors of all backgrounds.
First started in 2012 by the non-profit group Welcoming America, the weeklong event aims to showcase the movement of communities to be more welcoming places for all, including immigrants.
To celebrate and encourage a deeper belonging for everyone in the community, the library has planned several events that week.

Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman will hold mobile office hours at East Brunswick Public Library on Monday, Sept. 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. These mobile office hours allow constituents to connect with the Congresswoman’s office to receive assistance or learn more about federal agencies such as the Small Business Administration, Social Security Administration, or the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The library will partners with the East Brunswick Regional Chamber of Commerce for "Starting A New Business As An Immigrant" on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. Sunit Patel, Pragati J. Parikh, Esq., and Ronnie Hsieh Li will lead a panel discussion that shares their stories of using their entrepreneurial business spirit, drive, and determination to start a new professional life in the United States. This program is held at the library, and will also be available via Zoom.

East Brunswick residents can come together to work on a community art project on Friday, Sept. 13 and Thursday, Sept. 19 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. For children, there will be a multilingual storytime and craft on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10:30 a.m., and a Rosh Hashanah storytime and craft on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 4:30 p.m.
Other programs include free wellness screenings from Hackensack Meridian Health on Sept. 13, a National Voter Registration Day drive on Sept. 17, and an online program on how to use the library's Mango Languages online language learning classes on Sept. 19.
