East Brunswick Officer's Quick Thinking Saves Dog Trapped Under Home

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – A routine Sunday turned into a dramatic rescue operation when East Brunswick police responded to a distress call about a trapped dog on Milltown Road.

East Brunswick Patrol Officers were dispatched to a residence on Milltown Road after receiving reports of a dog that had escaped from its home and become trapped beneath the foundation of a nearby house.

New Brunswick Animal Control was called to the scene but could not safely extract the animal.

With options dwindling and the dog still trapped, Patrolman Colin White took initiative. After carefully assessing the situation, White discovered a small opening in the house's foundation that might allow access to the trapped animal.

Without hesitation, Officer White volunteered to crawl through the tight opening and navigate the cramped space beneath the home. Despite challenging conditions, he successfully reached the distressed dog and managed to bring it out unharmed.

The dog was promptly reunited with its grateful owners following the rescue. The incident goes on to highlight the diverse nature of calls that officers respond to beyond traditional law enforcement duties.
