East Brunswick Roads Closed Tonight

Westbound Ryders Lane near the library and Milltown Road from Ryders to Harts will be closed for a portion of the evening.

Portions of Milltown Road and westbound Ryders Lane near the library will be closed this evening.

According to police, a single-car accident at 12:40 p.m. at Milltown Road and Bowne Street resulted in a cracked telephone pole and low hanging wires in the road. As a result, Milltown Road will be shut down through the evening from Ryders Lane to Harts Lane while crews fix the power lines.

In addition, beginning at 7 p.m., the westbound lane of Ryders will be shut down for roadwork between Cranbury Road and Dunhams Corner Road. All traffic will be detoured, but the eastbound lane will remain open. Road work is expected to continue into the night.

According to police, the Milltown Road accident occurred when Sheila Strober, 71, of Milltown, was traveling west and hit a telephone pole. Strober sustained minor injuries and was taken by Trans Med Ambulance Service to Robert Wood Johnsons University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
