East Brunswick’s Sam Mattis Is Headed To The 2024 Olympics In Paris

This will be Mattis' second appearance for Team USA at the Olympics.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — East Brunswick High School graduate Sam Mattis has qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Mattis finished second in the discus throw at the 2024 United States Olympic Trials to qualify for his second straight Olympic team.

Mattis made the U.S. Olympics team for the first time in 2022 when he was placed third during the Track & Field Olympic discus trials.

He was the 2015 NCAA national champion in the discus.

Mattis graduated from East Brunswick High School in 2012.

He went to the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, where he was the 2015 NCAA national champion in the discus.

Mattis turned down a lucrative job offer from JPMorgan Chase to pursue his Olympic dream, according to Team USA.
