East Course At Tamarack Golf East Brunswick Reopens After Renovations

New upgrades include improved drainage, a new irrigation system, brand new tee boxes, bunker work and more.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Course of the Tamarack Golf Course reopened to the public this week, after extensive renovations.

Work on aesthetic and structural upgrades began in November 2020. These upgrades, include improved drainage, a new irrigation system, brand new tee boxes, bunker work, and finish work and grassing.

Renovations were funded through the Middlesex County Open Space Trust Fund, which provides grants to recreation facilities for the benefit of the community.

On Wednesday, Middlesex County officials joined Indigo Sports, a Troon Company, to view the renovations at the golf course.

“I am extremely proud of the dramatic transformation our golf courses have undergone and am eager to see the enhancements to come,” County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios said.

“Not only will this investment in the Tamarack golf course enhance the quality of life for our residents and attract new visitors to our beautiful County, but these renovations will also improve everyone’s playing experience. Whether you’re a golf enthusiast or simple looking for some outdoor recreation, I encourage all residents to visit our newly renovated East Course.”

The West Course will close in mid-October 2022 to undergo similar upgrades. The renovations are expected to be completed by Fall 2024.

Each course has been designed by architect Mark Mungeam of Mungeam Golf Design, Inc.

Working together, the County, Indigo Sports, and Mark Mungeam of Mungeam Golf Design, Inc. have created a world-class facility for our golf-enthusiast residents,” County Commissioner Charles Tomaro said.

Tamarack is located at 97 Hardenburg Lane in East Brunswick and features two 18-hole championship golf courses. The golf course was originally designed by noted golf-course architect Hal Purdy.

The East course is a par-71, 6,549-yard venue while the West plays at par 72 and 7,025 yards.
