Boy, 8, Flown To Burn Unit After Olive Garden Waitress Spills Hot Water
The child from Teaneck was severely burned at the East Brunswick restaurant, police reported

An 8-year-old boy from Teaneck was flown by helicopter Saturday to a hospital burn unit after an Olive Garden waitress accidentally spilled scalding water on him, according to the East Brunswick Police Department.
On December 20, at approximately 5:20 in the evening, East Brunswick Police Units responded to the Olive Garden on U.S. Highway 18, for reports that the child had sustained burns to his legs.
According to police, a waitress had accidentally spilled hot water from a teapot onto the victim. The East Brunswick Rescue Squad and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital also responded to the restaurant to treat the boy’s injuries. Emergency personnel determined that the burns were severe enough for the boy to be flown by helicopter to the St. Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston.

The East Brunswick Fire Department, District 1, set up a landing zone at the Middlesex County Vocational School on Rues Lane., and the victim was then transported by a New Jersey State Police Medivac Helicopter to St. Barnabas for treatment.
Officials have not yet released information on the boy’s condition as of Tuesday morning.
