“Food For Fines” Returns To East Brunswick Public Library

Items collected through this program will be donated to REPLENISH.

Do you have fines on your library card? East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive) is offering a chance to reduce those fines and help the community, now through December 31.

Through the Food For Fines program, library cardholders can have their overdue fines reduced by donating non-perishable food. The library will waive $3.00 in fines for every item donated, with a maximum of $30 waived per library card.

Items collected through this program will be donated to REPLENISH, a Middlesex County nonprofit agency working towards food security by partnering with over 130 food pantries, soup kitchens & social service agencies.

Donations to the food drive can also be dropped off at the library for anyone without outstanding fines. In appreciation, the library will provide a gift certificate for one free DVD or video game rental per item donated, up to a maximum of ten rentals.

Personal care and household products can also be donated instead of food.
