A collision involving a fuel tanker on Route 9 prompted a hazmat response from Middlesex County Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

SAYREVILLE, NJ - A collision involving a fuel tanker on Route 9 prompted a hazmat response from Middlesex County Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Route 9 was closed in both directions near Frederick Place due to the collision, Sayreville police said in a statement.
Middlesex County Hazmat and fire personnel responded to the scene to transfer fuel from the tanker, police said.
