Junior Woman’s Club Collecting Halloween Costumes, Toiletries, Tonight

The Junior Woman's Cub of the Greater Brunswick Area is collecting donations to be used for youth in foster care and women and children fleeing domestic violence.

The Junior Woman’s Club of the Greater Brunswick Area is collecting children’s Halloween costumes for youth in foster care as well as socks and toiletries for women and children fleeing domestic violence situations.

Bring any donations of new or gently used and cleaned costumes and/or new women’s and children’s socks and toiletries to our next meeting on Monday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m at the United Methodist Church in Milltown (47 North Main St.). We’ll sort the costumes to be given to Foster and Adoptive Family Services of Middlesex County and prepare “first night” sock/toiletry kits for Women Aware. Potential new members encouraged to attend.

The JWCGBA is a volunteer group of local women ages 18-45, and is part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Their volunteer work benefits local charities and underprivileged families and children, as well as organizations such as The Seeing Eye, Inc., and the National Guard. Typical activities include coordinating collections for school supplies, Halloween costumes, holiday food baskets and toys and gifts. The group also organizes social events such as Girls’ Night Out and various family friendly activities.
