
The East Brunswick Township Council approved a resolution Monday that will pave the way for a new roof for the .
The resolution awards a contract for $409,750 to Strober-Wright Roofing Inc. for the project.
Original estimates had the roof costing $750,000 and in the spring, the township approved a capital budget program that allowed it to borrow $650,000 for the roof.

Township Administrator James White said the life expectancy of the roof is 15 to 20 years.
“The company is ready to mobilize really as soon as the contracts get signed because the goal is to get that roof done during the month October because that is most temperate month, when we hope we can live without heating and air conditioning for a few days because the system will be down,” said White.
