East Brunswick celebrates Holi, the Festival of Color in India, with a special program featuring local author Priya Kumari on Saturday, February 25 at 11:00 am.

She will read her children’s book My Holi- Colors of Cheer. The book shares the rich history of the holiday, which celebrates the triumph of good over evil—and gratitude and forgiveness—through a family’s evening of storytelling. Legendary Indian actress Hema Malini has endorsed My Holi.

Kumari is an award-winning children’s author and the founder of the independent publishing company Eternal Tree Books. Her most popular book, Leaf Talks Peace: Buddha’s Message of Harmony, features a foreword from the Dalai Lama. Raised in the scenic foothills of the Himalayas, she inherited her interest in reading from her father, who owned a bookstore.
