Long-term Left Lane Closure On East Brunswick Rt. 18 From Saturday
The construction project is expected to be completed in fall 2026, NJ DOT said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A long-term closure to Route 18 will start this week. Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, the left lane will remain closed on Route 18 northbound and southbound, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).
At least two lanes will be maintained in each direction during construction. The left lane closure is expected to remain in place for around one year, officials said. The closure is necessary to install drainage and gas mains, as well as make curb improvements and other concrete median repairs.
Access to local businesses will be maintained during business hours, and access to side streets will be maintained during construction, NJ DOT said.
