Longtime Teacher, Former East Brunswick Education Association President Dies At 92
Rosalie Triozzi was a well-known figure in the school district who dedicated her life to education.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Former East Brunswick Education Association President and longtime teacher, Rosalie Triozzi, died on Aug. 3. She was 94.
Born on April 9, 1931, in Staten Island, NY, Triozzi earned her undergraduate degree from Hunter College. After graduating, she settled in New Jersey, where she devoted her life to teaching, according to her obituary.
Triozzi earned her Master of Education in 1966 and her Master of Science for Teachers in 1970 from Rutgers University.

“For 53 years, she dedicated herself to teaching mathematics, influencing generations of students with her commitment to education and her belief in the power of learning. Her classroom was a place of encouragement and inspiration, where students not only learned math but were taught the value of hard work, curiosity, and perseverance,” according to her obirtuary. In 1979, Triozzi was elected president of the East Brunswick Education Association and she served in that role for several years.
“She fought tirelessly for the rights and needs of teachers. Her leadership was characterized by integrity, empathy, and an unwavering dedication to the betterment of the educational community. Rosalie faced every challenge head-on and inspired others to do the same, becoming a true leader in every sense of the word,” her obituary said.

Triozzi received the Distinguished Service Award from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education in 1979. She was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an Honor Society in Education, in 1967. “She became a local legend, remembered for pulling into the school parking lot on her motorcycle in the mornings, inspiring students with her unshakeable independence,” according to her obituary.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, 549 Rt 520 Marlboro.
