NEW JERSEY – Multiple crashes resulted in deaths and injures across New Jersey over the weekend. Several people, including an 8-year-old girl, were killed in crashes. Also, a woman jumped off a moving ambulance, injuring herself on I-295.

Two people, including an 8-year-old girl, were killed in a crash that also seriously injured two women Sunday night in Burlington County, authorities said. Woman Jumps Off Moving Ambulance On Major NJ Highway

A 37-year-old Sewell woman suffered serious injuries Friday after jumping from a moving ambulance on Interstate 295 near Mount Laurel.

The incident happened shortly before 2 p.m. when the woman, a rear-seat passenger in a van-style ambulance traveling northbound, leaped from the vehicle and struck the roadway.

Man Injured After Ejected From Car

A Cape May County man suffered serious injuries Saturday afternoon after he was ejected from a car, according to media reports.

Adam Formento was traveling southbound on the parkway in Upper Township when his vehicle left the road and struck a guardrail, according to authorities. The impact ejected him from the vehicle, News12 said.

2 Drivers Trapped After Crash

A serious head-on crash shut down a section of the White Horse Pike on Friday morning, leaving both drivers trapped in their vehicles, authorities said.

The collision occurred around 11:49 a.m. on Friday, near Pump Branch Road. According to Winslow Township Police, an eastbound vehicle crossed into the westbound lane, striking another car head-on. The impact trapped both drivers, requiring extrication by emergency crews, police said.

Body Found Near Bridgeton Lake

Authorities are investigating after a passerby discovered the body of an unidentified young man in a section of Bridgeton known to be frequented by homeless individuals, according to media reports.

The discovery was made around 8:30 a.m. Saturday near East Commerce Street, close to East Lake, NJ.com reported.

The man appeared to be in his 20s or 30s. The cause of death remains undetermined, and the Bridgeton Police Department is working with the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

No further details have been released.

Historic House Destroyed In Fire

A historic house in Readington, NJ was destroyed in a fire on Saturday, officials said.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, emergency services responded to a house fire on Dreahook Road. The home, originally built in the 1800s, was currently undergoing renovations, township officials said. The complete house was destroyed in the fire. No injuries were reported. Investigations into the cause of the fire are still ongoing.

1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized In Hit-And-Run Crash

A hit-and-run crash on Interstate 78 Sunday afternoon left one person dead and another fighting for life after being airlifted to a trauma center, according to New Jersey State Police. The collision occurred at 4:46 p.m. near milepost 7.8 in Hunterdon County. Investigators say a Peterbilt semi-truck was parked on the right shoulder when the crash unfolded.

NJ Fugitive Nabbed By Cops

Atlantic City Police recovered a handgun and arrested a wanted man after detectives stopped a car he was in on Friday. Around at 2:04 p.m. on Friday, detectives were conducting surveillance in the 500 block of Wabash Avenue searching for a wanted man, Isa Salaam.
