Middlesex County Offers Residents Ways To Volunteer This Fall

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ - The Middlesex County Office of Parks and Recreation is offering residents the opportunity to embrace the beauty of fall by joining their fall 2024 volunteer events.
Whether individuals want to give back to nature or enjoy the outdoors, there’s a perfect event for everyone.
Volunteers will contribute to conservation efforts across several parks, supporting National Public Lands Day, Clean Ocean Action, and local reforestation projects.

All these volunteer opportunities require registration.
These events are a fantastic way to celebrate the season, connect with fellow nature lovers, and make a meaningful impact on the environment.

Volunteer opportunities will be available in September, October, and November.
All events are free and open to the public, with registration required.
Fall 2024 volunteer events include:
- National Public Lands Day: On Saturday, September 28, from 9 am to noon, celebrate National Public Lands Day with trail work and habitat improvements at Davidson's Mill Pond Park in North Brunswick.
- Beach Sweep with Clean Ocean Action: On Saturday, October 19, from 9 am to noon at the Raritan Bay Waterfront in South Amboy, volunteers will remove debris and litter from the shoreline, contributing to statewide efforts to preserve New Jersey’s coastal ecosystems.
- Fall Trails Day: On Saturday, November 2, from 9 am to noon, volunteers will help improve the trails at the Ireland Brook Conservation Area in East Brunswick as part of an ongoing reforestation initiative that promotes biodiversity and strengthens the area’s natural environment.
