New, State-Of-The-Art Biorepository Facility Opens In East Brunswick
The new facility will strengthen the township's position as a hub for biotech and healthcare innovation, officials said.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - East Brunswick recently celebrated the township's growing biotechnology sector with the grand opening of SciSafe's new biostorage facility.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together local officials, business leaders, and industry representatives to mark the expansion of a company that has grown from humble beginnings into a vital partner for pharmaceutical research worldwide.
SciSafe specializes in biopharmaceutical storage, sample management, and cold chain logistics solutions, serving a global network that includes major pharmaceutical companies and leading research institutes.

The new facility represents a substantial investment in the community and strengthens East Brunswick's position as a hub for biotech and healthcare innovation.
Mayor Brad Cohen, Economic Development Officer Rob Zuckerman, and Assemblyman Sterley Stanley joined SciSafe CEO Garrie Richardson for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Members of the East Brunswick Regional Chamber of Commerce, along with Debbie Hart of BioNJ, John Coelho of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, Rachel Cohen of Choose New Jersey, and Kalindi Bakshi of Middlesex County were also present.

We look forward to a strong partnership that benefits both residents and the broader region.”
Richardson reflected on the company's remarkable journey from its modest origins to its current state-of-the-art operation. "
“This facility marks a major milestone for the incredible team that’s been with us through the years,” Richardson said. “We started with two freezers and a dream, and today we’re supporting cutting-edge oncology research and much more, with a level of care and service that sets us apart.”
The facility opening underscores East Brunswick's commitment to attracting and retaining innovative companies in the life sciences sector, while providing employment opportunities and economic growth for the region.
