Night of Comedy to Benefit Local Firefighter is Tonight

Laughter Saves Lives will hold a fundraiser for fireman Tommie Lukowski, a cancer survivor.

Shortly after his father died, the District 1 firefighter and East Brunswick High School graduate was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his elbow. That was four years ago and since then, he has been diagnosed with Leukemia and now needs a new prosthetic for his elbow. During his fight, Lukowski has had 30-plus surgeries to battle cancer and replace his elbow.

On Thursday, April 5, the Laughter Saves Lives will hold “A Night for Tommie,” at the . The night of comedy will feature Adam Ferrara from TV’s “Rescue Me,” Steve Alevea and j Jay Boyd and is hosted by retired New York fire fighter John Larocchia.

“There are 1,000 seats there, if we can sell it out we can hand him a check for like, $40,000,” said organizer Butch Seltzer.
