Police Wanted: East Brunswick PD Now Hiring Officers
Applications are available through Oct. 19, officials said. Here's how to apply:
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - East Brunswick police are accepting applications for entry level police officers and certified (SLEO II waiver eligible) police officers in the township, department officials said.
Interested applicants must be U.S. citizens and residents of New Jersey, be at least 18 years of age and must be hired on or before their 35th birthday, police said. Applicants must also possess a valid, unrestricted New Jersey driver’s license and pass written, physical ability and interview exams, as well as medical, psychological and drug testing. A background investigation will also be provided.
The registration fee is $100. The listed salary is $60,225.

Applications must be submitted online here by Oct. 19 at 11:59 p.m.
Applicants must also possess a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college at time of appointment or, with former law enforcement/military experience, at least 30 college credits from an accredited college at time of appointment.

The physical test consisting of a 1.5-mile run, 100-yard sprint, pushups, and sit-ups will be held on Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. at the ast Brunswick High School track.
The written test will be scheduled at a later date for candidates who successfully pass the physical test, police said.
Successful candidates who are hired are sent to the Police Academy unless the applicant is appropriately certified by the Police Training Commission (PTC). The police academy is a training program that is approximately 22 weeks long.
Upon successful completion of the Police Academy, officers are assigned to the Patrol Division and to a Field Training Officer for an additional 16 weeks.
