Ryders Lane Open In East Brunswick, Work Continues On Water Main Break

Residents in the immediate area may lose water service during repairs, officials said.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Ryders Lane, which was closed yesterday due to a water main break, is now open but with a lane shift near Guernsey Lane.

Police personnel are on the scene to control traffic. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours, slow down, use caution, and expect delays.

If possible, they should plan an alternate route. Meanwhile, the East Brunswick Water Utility Department continue to work on repairing the break.

Residents may experience low water pressure and/or discolored water. Additionally, residents in the immediate area may lose water service during the repair process. It is unclear at this time as to how long the repairs will take.

Running cold water for several minutes, as well as flushing toilets once or twice, may clear up any discoloration in some cases. If experiencing discolored water, avoid doing laundry until the color returns to normal.
