School Supplies Sought to Benefit Area Students
Collected items will benefit students in five towns, including Milltown and New Brunswick.

Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula (D-NJ) seeks donations of school supplies to help send third graders in Milltown, New Brunswick, Somerset, North Brunswick and Pisctaway back to school with all the supplies they need.
According to a press release from Chivukula's office, anyone wishing to donate to the Sixth Annual 17th Legislative District Backpack and School Supply Drive is asked to stuff a new backpack with the following supplies, but donations of any items are appreciated. They are:

4 Pocket Folders

6 Lined Notebooks
1 Pair of Scissors
1 Ruler
2 Pink Erasers
2 Blue Pens
1 Pkg. Colored Pencils of Crayons
1 Pkg. Markers
1 Pkg. #2 Pencils
1 Glue Stick
All new items are requested.
“Now in our sixth year of this drive, we are excited that we have provided backpacks and supplies to over 1,250 local students and look forward to building on that again this year," Chivukula said, in a prepared statement.
Supplies and backpacks can be brought to Chivukula's district office at 888 Easton Ave., Suite 3, Somerset.
The drive is open through Aug. 29, according to the release.
