Third Party Energy, Operating Budget on Tonight's Council Meeting Agenda

The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. at the township municipal building.

A conversation about obtaining East Brunswick's energy through a third-party provider will continue at tonight's township council meeting.

The council will meet at 8 p.m. tonight, June 10, in the township municipal building, 1 Jean Walling Civic Center.

Lou Neely, Chief Financial Officer for East Brunswick, came before the council in March to discuss a proposal for an energy purchasing plan that would involve purchasing power through a third party provider.

East Brunswick is part of the Middlesex County Regional Education Commission Cooperative, which in November began researching this topic and put RFP's out to energy management and consulting firms, selecting Good Energy as their company of choice, Neely previously said.

The third party provider, "Good Energy," would provide source energy to PSE&G and JCP&L, the township's existing providers, and bill at a lower rate, Neely said.

PSE&G and JCP&L would continue to deliver the energy to customers in the township, Neely said.

The council will also hold a public hearing for the 2013 operating budget, and a proclamation recognizing EBTV's recent awards will be read, according to the agenda.
