United FC Wins Marlboro Tournament
The team defeated a national ranked squad enroute to a tournament championship.
United FC attended the 25th Annual Marlboro Soccer Tournament and left with glory.
The team won all its respective bracket games and beat top nationally ranked Marlboro Galaxy in the final game 1-0 to win the Championship. It was a tough game as always and it had been close to two years since the last time East Brunswick beat Marlboro Galaxy. They are a very strong and talented team all around and that is why they are highly ranked at the state and national level.
Hard work during training sessions and discipline finally paid off for East Brunswick. Coaches and parents feel it was one of the best games ever as there were exceptional plays all around the field and many missed scoring chances by both teams but in the end East Brunswick’s domination of the midfield dictated the outcome of the game and the tournament. United FC finished the tournament with four wins, 11 goals in favor and 3 goals against.
