Apartment in The Orchard Damaged by Stove Fire
Heavy smoke was billowing from the area of the stove, police said.

A fire ignited in an apartment unit within The Orchard complex Friday morning, according to East Windsor police. Officers responded to the residence at 9:50 a.m. after heavy smoke within the unit was reported. Fortunately, the fire had extinguished prior to the arrival of rescue workers and the apartment was unoccupied, according to police.
While the fire was out by the time police arrived at the scene, a heavy amount of smoke was emanating from the stove area in the kitchen, police said. According to police, the kitchen was damaged by the flames and the entire apartment was affected by smoke damage. No injuries were reported, according to police.Â
East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company #1, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company #2, Hightstown Fire Company, Robbinsville Fire Company, Plainsboro Fire Company, West Windsor Fire Company, Capital Health EMS. East Windsor Rescue Squad District 1, and East Windsor Rescue Squad District 2 all arrived at the scene.
