'Double Vision' Exhibit Showcases 2 Prominent State Artists

The show will be on display at the Gourgaud Gallery in Cranbury between Oct. 6 and Oct. 27.

Two New Jersey artists, Bernice Rappoport and Paula Swelt, will beΒ exhibiting in the Gourgaud Gallery, located in Cranbury Town Hall between Oct. 6 and Oct. 27.

Rappoport chooses subjects that have a personal connection, according to Susan Troost, a member of theΒ Gourgaud Gallery Committee.Β Many of Rappoport's paintings feature the play of light on landscapes, portraits, figures, and still life.Β 

Swelt explores a wide range of subjects and aims to capture a moment in time, Troost said.Β Her painting β€œBurst of Flowers” was featured on the cover of theΒ On the GoΒ section of the Home News Tribune.

Both artistsΒ enjoy working in various mediums, especially watercolor, andΒ they both are members in the prestigious Garden State Water Color Society and New Jersey Water Color Association. Their work has been selected into various juried exhibitions and have won awards. Both artists artwork is also in private collections.

Their show, entitled β€œDouble Vision”, kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 6 with a reception at theΒ Gourgaud Gallery between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Otherwise, the work will be on display in the gallery until Oct. 27.Β
