DUI With Juvenile Passengers, Assault by Auto: East Windsor PD Blotter
The East Windsor Police blotter date Jan. 18 had the following reports:
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — On Jan. 11 at 8 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Route 130 and Route 571 for a disturbance. One of the involved parties fled from the officer resulting in a brief foot pursuit. The man then refused to comply with the arrest process but was eventually taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. The man, a 19-year-old Cranbury resident, was also found to have an active warrant out of Cranbury Township and was later turned over to the custody of Cranbury Police. The other involved party was also found to have an active warrant out of East Windsor Township. The Monroe resident was placed under arrest and later released after posting bail.
Jan. 12. At 4:49 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 33 West by Motel 6 after observing the vehicle with a brake light out. The officer also observed the passenger was not wearing his seatbelt. The passenger, a 50-year-old Trenton resident, was found to have an active warrant out of East Windsor. The man was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters where he was later released on his own recognizance.
On Jan. 12, 6:48 p.m., an officer responded to Kensington Arms for a reported disturbance. One of the involved parties left the area but returned in his vehicle while the officer was still investigating the complaint. The Spotswood resident displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. A search incident to arrest produced drug paraphernalia. The 40-year-old was taken to police headquarters where he was processed and later released on a summons pending court action.

On Jan. 12 at 7:07 p.m., an officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked to the rear of the Windsor Motel. While speaking with the occupants, the officer noticed a large bag of marijuana which exceeded the limit permitted by law. Additionally, one individual admitted to being in possession of psychedelic mushrooms. That individual was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and released on a summons pending court action.
On Jan. 12, at 11:50 p.m., an officer observed a single car motor vehicle collision while patrolling in the area of Route 133 East. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. At that time, there were two juveniles in the vehicle who were uninjured and later turned over to a guardian on scene. The driver, a 29-year-old East Windsor resident was taken to police headquarters where he refused to comply with the breath testing process. He was processed and later released pending court action.

Jan. 13, at 5:47 p.m., an officer responded to Jamestown Road near Twin Rivers Drive North for report of a man that was unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle. The officer located the vehicle in question and found a man asleep with the car on and gear in drive. The driver, a resident of Jackson, NJ, was unable to perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. The 43-year-old was later released pending court action.
Jan. 13, 7:58 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Route 130 North and Hickory Corner Road for a three-car crash. Two of the drivers sustained minor injuries. The third driver displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The Keansburg resident was taken to police headquarters where he was processed and later released on a summons pending court action.
Jan. 14, 3:10 a.m., an officer responded to the area of Route 33 and Probasco Road for a single-car motor vehicle accident. A Monroe Township Police Officer observed the vehicle leave the road, strike a traffic sign and continue to travel on Route 33. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted East Windsor Police. The driver, a 27-year-old East Windsor resident, showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing
field sobriety tests. He was taken to police headquarters where he was processed and later released with a court date.
Jan. 14, 10:08 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle after learning its registration was suspended. The driver, a 21-year-old Hamilton resident, was found to have an active warrant out of Hamilton Township. He was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters where he was later released on his own recognizance.
Jan. 17, 1:42 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop after a registration look up revealed the owner had a suspended license and an active warrant out of East Windsor. The officer spoke with Philadelphia resident and confirmed he was the owner of the vehicle. The 50-year-old was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was released after posting bail.
Jan. 14, 4 p.m., on Jan. 07, the victim contacted the police and reported his vehicle was keyed sometime overnight. The case was assigned to a detective who identified a suspect. On Jan. 17, the suspect, a 27-year-old Trenton resident, responded to police headquarters and was charged accordingly. He was processed and released on a summons pending court action.
Jan. 17, 5:27 p.m., an officer responded to Walmart after loss prevention personnel recognized two people inside the store from previous shoplifting incidents. The officer arrived and observed one individual attempt to leave with a shopping cart of merchandise. The officer stopped the person who ultimately attempted to leave the store without paying for the items in the cart. Additionally, the individual had active warrants out of Monmouth County and Trenton City. The woman was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The individual was charged accordingly and turned over to Monmouth County Sheriff's Officers on the outstanding warrant from their jurisdiction. The other individual admitted to shoplifting and was placed under arrest. That individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on a summons pending court action.
