Monroe Township Police Chief Griffin Banos used the incident to remind residents about the importance of thoroughly vetting workers who enter their homes.

"As Chief of Police, I urge everyone to be cautious and diligent when allowing workers in your home. Always verify credentials, check reviews or references, and ensure they are from a reputable company," Banos said. "It's about safeguarding your family and your peace of mind. A few extra minutes of vetting can prevent serious risks down the line."
