Summer On The Water: Mercer County Launches Kayaking Program For Teens

Daily activities include kayaking adventures, environmental education focused on lake ecology, and recreational games.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ – Mercer County Park Marina in West Windsor invites teens ages 13-15 to dive into summer fun at Aquatic Adventure Camp. This engaging kayaking program features daily lake expeditions combined with ecological exploration and recreational activities.

“Aquatic Adventure Kayaking Camp is a unique offering in Mercer County and something we are proud to offer our young residents,” County Executive Dan Benson said. “Lake Mercer is a treasure, and this program is a way for our teens to enjoy the water during the heat of summer.”

The weeklong camp runs June 23-27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration costs $300 for Mercer County residents and $400 for non-residents. Daily activities include kayaking adventures, environmental education focused on lake ecology, and recreational games. Swimming proficiency is required for all participants.

“Every year our campers smile from the moment they show up,” Director of Environmental Education Kelly Rypkema said. “We can’t wait to welcome our kayakers to the lake and launch them into this adventure.”
