Mercer County Woman Seriously Injured in Ridge Road Crash
Roadway was shut down between Route 1 and Route 27 for about an hour Thursday morning.

A 20-year-old Mercer County woman suffered serious injuries following a motor vehicle accident on Ridge Road Thursday morning.
Shortly before 9 a.m., the unidentified victim wasΒ headed west on Ridge Road in a 2003 LexusΒ to her job in Princeton. The woman lost control of her vehicle when she came toΒ a bend near Sassman Lane and her vehicle veeredΒ onto the right shoulder of the roadway, according to police.
The woman then attempted to get control of her vehicle, but sheΒ overcorrected and the car wasΒ spun back across the road into oncoming traffic that wasΒ headed east on Ridge Road, police said. At that point, the Lexus was struck broadside by a 2013 Nissan driven by a 44-year-old Princeton woman.
TheΒ 20-year-old Mercer County woman was taken by South Brunswick EMS and paramedics to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. The Princeton woman was transported by South Brunswick EMS to theΒ University Medical Center of Princeton where she was treated and released, police said.
The accident closedΒ Ridge Road between Route 1 and Route 27 for about an hour.
The crash is currently under investigation by South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau Officer Michael Leung.Β
