East Windsor BOE Recognizes Princeton Alum for Free Tutoring

Adrian Colarusso, a recent graduate of Princeton University, volunteered six Saturday mornings at Hightstown High School to provide a free Princeton Review SAT Preparation Course for twelve students. At the Feb. 11 meeting, the Board of Education recognized and thanked Colarusso for this outstanding endeavor.
 
Colarusso has seven years and hundreds of hours of experience as a professional tutor for the SAT and various academic subjects. In addition to offering the prep course at the high school, he collected donations from his colleagues at BlackRock, an asset management firm in Princeton, to not only cover the cost of providing all the materials but also breakfast and lunch for the students.
 
On Jan. 19, ten of the twelve aspiring college students completed the six-week S.A.T. preparation course. The students were selected based on a criteria determined by Colarusso. Before beginning the program, they had to complete an essay and meet with Rosetta Brown, a guidance counselor at the high school. Brown has worked diligently with Colarusso to help facilitate and implement the program.
 
The Board of Education and the East Windsor Regional School District are very appreciative of the time, effort, and generosity Mr. Colarusso has invested in our students and very glad that Hightstown High School was chosen to implement his program.
