Reckless Driving, Shoplifting: East Windsor Police Blotter

The East Windsor Police blotter dated Nov. 14 had the following reports:

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — On Nov. 10, at 1:05 a.m., an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 33 East, near Lake Drive after observing the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign and maintain its lane of travel. The individual displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The 41-year-old Somerset resident was taken to police headquarters, processed, and later released pending court action.

On Nov. 10 at 5 p.m., an officer responded to Walmart for a report of three shoplifters being detained by loss prevention personnel. Investigation revealed that the individuals concealed merchandise in their purses that was valued at $1,497.16. The individuals – two residents of Trenton and one from Monroe - were placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, and later released pending court action.

On Nov. 13, at 11:20 a.m., an officer responded to Target for a report of a shoplifter fleeing the store. The officer located the individual in the rear of the building and placed him under arrest. Investigation revealed that the Brooklyn, NY man concealed merchandise in a shopping bag constructed for the purpose of defeating commercial anti-theft sensors. The 22-year-old was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed, and later released pending court action.
