Report: Hightstown Mayor Files Claim Against Councilman, Police Director, Borough

The mayor is claiming that these three entities damaged his reputation, the Windsor-Hights Herald reported.

Hightstown Mayor Steve Kirson has filed a tort claim notice against Councilman Robert Thibault, Police Director James LeTellier, and the Hightstown Borough, the Windsor-Hights Herald has reported.

Kirson filed the claim with the Borough through the law firm of Long, Marmero & Associates of Woodbury on Monday, according to the report. A tort claim notice is a notification of an intent to file a lawsuit.

The lawsuit cites the reputation of Kirson was damaged by Letellier, Thibault, and the Borough, according to the report. LeTellier had previously publicly stated that the Mayor had threatened his job this past March and Thibault thought that this threat should be looked into, the Windsor-Hights Herald reported.

Hightstown Borough Attorney Frederick Raffetto asked the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office to investigate LeTellier’s claims and, according to the report, the prosecutor’s office found no evidence of criminal conduct.
