Water Conservation Urged in Cranbury While Leak is Fixed

New Jersey American Water customers in 18 municipalities are asked to conserve water while repairs are done on a leaking 60-inch water transmission main.

Cranbury residents are asked to conserve water for 24 hours starting Tuesday night while New Jersey American Water repairs a line in Manville, according to a news release.

The water company will be repairing a 60-inch water transmission main that distributes water to 18 municipalities, the release said. The amount of water distributed will be reduced, however the company said customer’s service shouldn’t be impacted.

New Jersey American Water is asking customers to conserve water from 7 p.m. on Tuesday, through 7 p.m. Wednesday after a small leak was found last week in the transmission line, the release said.
