Book Sale
Hickory Corner Library in East Windsor is holding a book sale on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be thousands of fiction and non-fiction books for sale for adults, young adults, and children. Adult hardcover books cost $1.50 and paperbacks cost between $0.50 and $1. Young adult and children hardcover books are two for $1 and paperbacks are three for $1. DVDS, CDs, videos, and audio books will also be on sale. All of the proceeds will be used for special library programs, including the Summer Reading Program, and to purchase new materials for the library.
Kentucky Derby Party
Head on over to a full-fledged Kentucky Derby Party at the Hightstown Elks Lodge in East Windsor on Saturday, May 4 at 2:30 p.m. The party features live music, outdoor field activities, games, prizes, derby raffles, and arts and crafts for children - oh, and dinner, dessert, and beverages! Dinner includes ribs, chicken, burgers, hot dogs, sausages with peppers and onions, chicken nuggets, salad, green beans, and baked beans. Then, satisfy your sweet tooth with cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, cotton candy, and fruit salad for dessert. There will also be a bottomless draft beer cup for $10 and wine and mint juleps by the glass for $3. Admission is $16 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, and $8 for children.
5K Charity Walk for Lymphoma Research
The New Jersey Chapter of the Lymphoma Research Foundation is holding their 10th anniversary Lymphomathon, a family-friendly, 5K Walk to raise money for research of lymphoma, the most common form of blood cancer. Come join hundreds of survivors, families, friends, corporate teams and neighbors who have been touched by lymphoma on Sunday, May 5 at Mercer County Park. The 5K begins at 9:30 a.m. Registration is free; all ages are welcome.
